I'm trying to write every day, so here's a very rough draft of a totally unplanned story.
It was a dark and stormy night.

No. Scratch that.

Sure, the night was dark. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a night that wasn't dark. Maybe during the summer in Alaska, but the farthest north I've ever been is southern Canada.
Anyways, that's beside the point.

The night might have been dark, but it wasn't stormy.

I think.

When I was staring down what looked like a surgeon, wondering if those were tentacles under his medical mask, I wasn't about to pause to wonder what the temperature was.
So I was a bit too preoccupied to think about the weather.
