We hurt the ones we love the most... and love the ones we hurt
Touch

The softness of a tender touch
The current in-between
The chemicals react as such,
such chemistry, it leans

To slow reluctant shivers spent
The giveaway... The tell
Betrayed, delayed, delivered... dents
The places where we fell

Hoping 'someone' picks us up
Trusting that they feel
The best laid Braille we keep up
Raised on skin, concealed

A fear of what's promised there
Pledges we must keep
Silent vows admonished, scared,
with produce that we reap

Underneath a harvest moon
Held captive by the light
The hunter's time, it wanes too soon
Waxing out of sight

Bounties rich for taking all
For those who tell and show
Farmers of our making, call
We reap the crops we sow

Slung with ashes. Stung with dust,
with farrowed soil, clear
Sung bohemian, we trust,
it's rhapsody we fear

The fear of a tender touch
Such depth, such lightness brings
Unwanted... wanted far too much
Prone... naked, midst such things
