A brief poem for my pops.
To those who have yet to feel it
I pray you won't
And to those who have
I wish you all the love

So now, let me tell you this story
Of both love and death
Of happiness and dreads
And of mourning and grave

I once asked him
What is the most painful way to die?
And never did I ever think
The answer would come like a fly

It was him, then
No, it was his death
And many wondered why

So I gave them a sad reply
Nothing is more excruciating
Nothing -
Than losing the one who gave you life

And as he left my side
After a parade of people in white
I bled
And in the process, I died

One day, I'll read to you these lines
But for now, let this poem be sealed
With all the memories and love we shared
