About missing my family when away with military.
Heart laden with sadness this accursed deprivation
Tears are flooding, scorching, oppressive
distance, time, being away, isolation
It's dark, lonely, immensely destructive

So close yet so far, almost touchable
Breathing becomes impossible
Weight of it, unimaginable
Fear, loss, love intolerable

Wish for home and heart
Wish for completion of soul
Wish to not be apart
Wish for escape from hellish hole

There must be a way to be with all three
Son, Daughter, Wife. Home, heart, lover
Shattering, all that is left, debris
A need for the halves that are the better

A man must never cry
But alone he will lament
Difficult to believe
That love, is everlasting

Just the thought, can comfort, can fortify
To get back up, to be content
To see, to touch, to smell no longer to aggrieve
A devotion unwavering

Been missing you all
Been missing you all
