A poem written by one character for another.
Dare I, dare I cross this bridge?
Dare I open this door?
Dare I dance with this temptation?
Dare I cross that floor?

Dare I, dare I type those words?
Dare I click on Send?
Dare I, dare I ask your name?
Dare I ask to be your friend?

Dare I, dare I board this boat?
Dare I sail this shark-infested sea?
Dare I, dare I try to catch your attention?
Dare I ask if you'll notice me?

Dare I, dare I tempt fate like this?
Dare I invite you in my life?
No, I don't dare. I cannot have you here.
No, I don't dare. I am a mom and wife.

But, too late. I crossed that bridge.
Too late. I opened that door.
Too late. I reached out and was reached back.
Too late. My choice was poor.

Too late. I hit send and you replied.
Too late. Temptation won.
Too late. I've already crossed this line.
Too late. What have I done?
