Just a poem that one of my characters wrote to another character in my WIP novel
You are my dream.
You are my nightmare.
You are my truth.
You are my dare.
I wish I could run to you without a care.
How can I be here and you be there
Existing in the same earth, breathing the same air?
It isn't fair.

How did you enter my life,
yet not be in my life?
How did you penetrate my walls,
stampede my halls,
be the subject of my desperate calls?

I'm diving headfirst off this cliff,
straight into this raging sea.
Wishing, yet not wishing to be set free.

You are my confusion,
You are my clarity.
You are my crazy.
You are my sanity.
I wish that we could be.
How can we?
The house is on fire,
And I'm sitting here watching TV.

Keep your distance.
Rescue me.
