Sometimes seasons of life have passed you by before you realized you were in them
Ebbing and flowing,
The memories of what you once were.
Almost forgetting
The past center of your world.

Frown lines surround
The mouth of the friend who once laughed.
Those who threw away their innocence
Now drown out the truths they have learned.

Roundness to angles,
Black and white to gray.
Talk to the angels,
But you can’t trust what they say.

Looking back with fondness,
On the days you used to dread.
So caught up with this pain in your head,
You forget to live just as you did then,
And you feel all these things all over again.
