One of the first poems I wrote, with a play on words and their double meanings.

The ocean pounds out her steady beat, as water to earth they eventually will meet. Water meets the earth and the earth he gives in, as the water meets the earth the changes begin.

The water she is gentle, the earth he is strong. Water is patient as to the earth she belongs. The changes are subtle the changes are slow, as water takes her time she goes with the flow.

Earth stands his ground so steady and proud, yet to the gentle water he will always come round. Subtle are the changes, barely able to view, ever so slowly but obviously true.
