Amid the joys of Christmas, do we recognize the meaning of the holiday?
The Baby born on Christmas

As we open our gifts and

eat our Christmas dinner,

do we ever wonder why we

celebrate this happy day?

Do we ever think about

the little baby born

in a lonely stable so

long ago in Bethlehem?

God's gift born to be

the ultimate gift of love

To bring peace on earth and

goodwill toward men.

When the little ones

play with toy balls and drums

Pa-rum-pa-pa-pum

do they wonder why?

On a day when

a peaceful child

Drew wise men who

left gold, frankincense and myrrh.

The bells which peel through

the silent night, were they

like the angels' song of joy

to the shepherds?

For all the gifts and toys,

all the wrapping and joys,

This comes down to the baby born

That first Christmas day.
