Contest entry for August
Memorial day is the day of planting for many people. A true gardener in Northern Michigan knows you never plant before this special day, the risk of frost is to big before then. Now we plant our tomatoes, peppers of all kinds, watermelons, pumpkins and anything our hearts desire. Next we must weed and feed the gardens all summer long. Slowly we will see the fruits of our labor, and finally in the fall we will get to reap what we have sown. Fresh veggies from the garden what a beautiful flavor, a wonderful way to enjoy our summer.
