On a cool autumn evening,
a toxic silence descends,
like a crow
landing on carrion.

What creatures stalk,
the hours between dusk and dawn?

Chaos,
with his black ruby sword drawn,
passes the barricade
that separates dimensions.

Wings rustle,
a feather falls through the darkness
its color changing,
flowing through the color spectrum,
as it descends to the ground.

Is this an omen?
