My fingers have forgotten how to spell,
My fingers have forgotten how to spell,
I place them on the keyboard and they ache
to type in rhymes and stanzas at will,
I watch the monitor, and my head shakes.

My fingers have a mind of their own,
They type in words that I don't recognize,
And cause the spellchecker to moan and groan
What is the word that they have stigmatized?

I wonder if my fingers are possessed,
by an alien from Mars or Venus?
Could it be that they are just obsessed,
in love with my computer's genus?

They seldom spell the words exactly right,
I wonder what has given them a fright?
