Lifting eyes ever upward
Reaching

Slowly
I turned towards the son
Half thinking no one heard my silent tear
Then I felt the softness of touch
Saying without speaking
I love you

Deeply I sobbed into waiting arms
Safe in my place there
As I let my river flow
Taking me into new places
Where I could be me
I love you

Then
As I moved in arms so strong
I felt his loving glance
Bring light into my dark places
As the warm place brought thaw
Saying I love you still

As if
I took a deep breath in
Of life now settling in my heart
I knew acceptance like never before
Really seeing
I love you

Till
What was once frozen ground
Give life to a new day
Full of delight and whispering
I reallly love you.
