We are all children of God, trying to live life the best we can.
I consider myself a Christian. I pray every night for guidance, for protection for my family, for my president, and for my country. I want to live in a safe place where we can raise our families, where there are plenty of jobs available that will make one self-sufficient, build our self-confidence, knowing we can take care of ourselves and our families. When everyone has a job, they're happy, which in turn builds great communities who love one another.

There is joy in going to church, seeing a great movie, going to a restaurant, or just being with one another. I also pray for safe schools where our children have plenty of activities to choose from to help them become team players. I pray for great teachers who instructs all students. Oh, hear my prayer tonight, I'm singing to the sky.

I, myself, think President Trump is doing a great job in keeping our country safe. We feel good when the economy's doing well, where we have great leaders who take pride in their work, who want to achieve the best for all Americans, not just themselves. President Trump seems to have kept most of his campaign promises when running for the highest office of the land, but, unfortunately, he can't do everything by himself. He wants to build a wall to keep our country safe from criminals that sneak across our borders illegally. He said, "A country without borders cannot be called a country." He needs a congress who will work with him to get this accomplished, but it's way too divided now! It does amaze me on what President Trump's has accomplished on his own. He's not a politician, but I think that is a good thing for a change.

I do know our Lord watches over us. Even when it seems to us like the darkest hour, a ray of light shines through that makes me smile and I feel safe. I wake up every morning and look at a picture hanging near my bed of Jesus herding his flock of sheep. It belonged to my mom, and I remember her telling me, as a child, the story that lies behind that special picture. She has passed on, but the memories that I have of her are always with me which gives me peace.

Why do I believe in Jesus? I believe, because as a child, I went to Sunday School, was confirmed, sharing my public profession of faith to the congregation. Learning about the bible and its many stories became an experience I'll never forget. Some of those bible stories seemed unbelievable, such as "Jonah being swallowed up by a whale" or "Daniel in the Lion's Den," or Joseph being sold into slavery by his brothers. As a child, I just couldn't phantom such a thing happening. I always wondered where these just stories, or where they really true? Later on, I found out some other terrible things that have happen during the history of the bible, and the men who wrote about it. It's the Bible, and it's what we have, as Christians, to learn about the events that happened so long ago, sharing what has happened, and hopefully not making the same mistakes?

Our Church had some great pastors who preach to the congregation the bible. Some of us like to pick and choose the bible passages that we use to prove our point, but we forget that we have to read the whole chapter to find the meaning behind it. I have learned much as I have grown older, but I know I have so much more to learn.

My favorite hymn is "How great thou Art"

O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art…

These words always makes me cry, but I love singing this song in church, with my family, or just by myself. It brings me joy, and isn't that what we all want and need?
