Poem about the ravages of time
In my youth I lived care free,
Killing time with childish glee.
Now with age I start to see,
That time is slowly killing me.

Seconds passed become the past -
Answers lost since no one asked.
Memories are kept heldfast,
Amidst lives which never last.

I grow to watch my heroes die,
Innocence has long gone by:
For I've seen through naive eyes,
Truths which were just clever lies.

Watch me slowly rot away,
Withering with each new day.
Time heals wounds is what they say,
But as for me it brings decay.
