summer ceding to fall
Where is the glow of summer
that warmed my weary soul
I have looked in corners
and under beds, in cupboards
and drawers, but all to naught
The air is cold and biting
and with winter’s kiss is fraught
More blankets on beds
More cups of soothing tea
More heat from the fire
Less light of day for me
