A poem to petition

This is my petition

A master rendition

To my Father

I had to surrender

No longer pretending

But accepted the gift

of grace and repentance

He sent what I needed

Cause I couldn't knead it

Or produce the production

He rendered

He seen my condition

And sent my redemption

With a price I couldn't afford

My El Shaddai, Sis and Brother

The Almighty suffices

for me... and others

I will fear no evil

I won't believe the deceiver

But I'm a receiver

Of the Holy Ghost

I can't be couth,

I know the truth

And I have to testify

I won't shut my mouth about His grace

Because a rock can cry out and take my place

So I'm ever so diligent on the way that I carry His name.

No mocking or debauching,

But representing Him well

Because I want to keep truth

And forsake telling tales

Since all things are made new

My speech is made well

The most dangerous sin is hypocrisy

I know first-handed because it's who I used to be

If He be for me, no one can be against

The enemy lied and told me the unknown is true bliss

I attempted to live in that ignorant location

Then I read Proverbs which described wisdom as an oasis

How to stand before kings and stay in good graces

To be a Proverbs 31 and not a Proverbs 2,

One behaves as a wife the

Other seduces all fools.

Then I flipped to Joshua and it said to stay courageous

Taught me to fear the Lord and not men and their faces

So I flipped to a Psalm

that taught me how to stay calm in distress

Even when I'm stressed

From creating my own mess

I can cry out and repent and accept the grace and strength to pass the test.

I have biblical instructions before leaving earth as a study guide to pass the test

In Psalms 91, under the wings of my Savior I find a place of refuge to accept His rest.

A mop and a bucket to clean up my mess

And all my God suggests is a few simple requests...

Be ye holy, as I AM,

Love one another, visit the sick

And don't step on your brother

But rather be all things to all men

And the spiritual are charged to help our brothers recover.

Because you'd want it for yourself,

You must do so for others.

Be a blanket of God's love so

Another's sin, we must cover

So put down your sorrows

And pick up your cross

Count your sin as the dung it is

And not as a loss.

Because the wages of sin is death

And I cannot afford the cost.

We like to think of the

Word as metaphorical,

Like even the New Testament is just historical,

And there is no more asking amiss.

Like the Lord changed this afternoon

Or like He is going to do so soon

But that's a lie that's comforting so

Our consumable lusts can get some room.

But He's the same yesterday, today, and forevermore.

The situations we undergo,

Have been conquered before

No situation can surprise Him,

Let's surmise

that the devil has already been defied

When the Christ paid the cost

To live and to rise

He did this so we can

Have life, with no compromise.
