A very short poem describing a sunrise
Stars glisten like diamonds on a velvet cloth,
as on the horizon,
a soft violet glow heralds another dawn
moment after passing moment colours change
Violet to Indigo, Indigo to deep Pink
Birds shuffle in the trees and begin to sing,
as if calling for the sunrise

The silence of the night has been broken
as another busy day awakens from its slumber
the warm glowing shades of the Sun
peek above distant trees,
as one by one the twinkling gems
of the night sky disappear from view.
