A nostalgic poem remember what is and what isn't anymore

Sometimes I Dance

In the barren courtyard of my mind

sometimes

I dance

to remember;

sometimes

I dance

to forget.

I dance alone;

but always I dance with you.

A bittersweet haze

wraps its arms around me.

In a seductive, raspy voice

It whispers

'You can stop dancing

anytime you want

but you can never leave'

Day by day

and night after night

the dance lasts

longer and longer.

Day turns to night.

Night turns to day.

Through the haze

I hear my phone ringing;

it just keeps on ringing

and ringing;

but I can't answer it.

I'm lost in the dance.
