A Happy New Year to one and all
Limbo's End

It's funny how the days align
Converge, roll into one
'tween Christmas and New Year we find
They merge, forge, fold and run

A limbo midst a season cold,
a low point for a few
… For others it's a reason bold,
a chance to take their cue

As days begin their stretching out,
with subtlety at first
Skies scaled grey, grim, sketching doubt
… with fledgling hours worse

Stumbling through closing doors
December's gates lock fast
Through avenues and corridors,
and ghosts trapped in the past

As some wraiths join us for the ride,
as New Years, they begin,
join others, we are yet to find
as January rolls in

With fairy lights spun lowly, round,
and mornings after rough,
with days that stretch out slowly wound
… yet never quick enough

With resolutions, lower chill
a new year starts it's turn
The candle's wick burns slower still
… the starting of the burn

Flames that flicker brightly, lost
Candelabras incomplete
A hopeful treading, lightly, soft
Schemes, dreamed so bittersweet

Yearned longly, in the darkness
Twin wicked candles, kindred flames
Burning brightly, brief and timeless
In wax, our thoughts remain

The fire never takes it all,
it always leaves some back
Time will march, we take our falls
Treading through the black

Taking down the stars in days,
with angels back in draws
Different stars shine different ways
… find out which way's yours
