Poem about January
JANUARY POEM

Each year ends
At Christmas time
One hard act to follow

Each year starts with
January
In the snow we'll wallow

Too cold, too bleak
Too icy too
What is there to like

Can't swim, can't golf
Can't feel the sun
Can't even ride a bike

What is there
To dote upon
In the dark and cold

There must be
Some treasure still
Within dead winter's hold

We could go
To ski and schuss
Down a mountain side

One might try
To figure skate
With graceful spin and glide

Maybe run
That favorite hill
In a big toboggan

Or build a fancy
snowman tall
And decorate his noggin

There are books
I meant to read
Now might be my chance

Perhaps it's time
To don those shoes
And learn to ballroom dance

I could binge watch
TV shows
That my cable's got

Go to work out
In the gym
Mmmmm....maybe not

Better yet
I'll knuckle down
And set my muse to roam

I'll put to pen
And bring to life
My January poem
