I wish I could go back in time
I’ve wandered through the treasure chest
of memories that I stored,
searching for the ones of me with you.
The good times that we had,
the happy and the sad.
the rich bouquet of moments that we grew.

We worried as we planned our lives
together for so long,
hoping that our love would see us through.
We had our ups and downs,
times both of us got mad,
but we did it all together, just we two.

I wish I could go back in time
and do it once again.
I must admit, if I’m willing to be true,
there are some things I’d change,
some small regrets I had.
Aw, let’s face it; there are more than just a few

I wouldn’t be so stubborn and
hardheaded any more.
I’d be more patient and more lenient too.
I think I’ll change right now
and then you will be glad.
You know that it’s the least that I can do.

I know I’ve made these promises
so many times before,
but then I’ve found it hard to follow through.
Although things start out well,
they always end up bad.
This is a promise I will surely rue.

It never lasts beyond a day or two.
