Inspired by "Carry On, Mr Bowditch" a book thats meant a lot to me over the years
When there's no wind in the sails,
But you must get to port,
When you've been sailing by stars
Now obscured by the storm,
when there's signs on horizon
but you don't know what they mean,
you must break out the oars,
and sail by ash breeze.

When you begin to fall prey
To the dark siren's song,
When you've no say in the script
But you must play along,
When youre losing trust in your eyes
And the truth that they've seen,
You must stay on your oars,
And sail by ash breeze

When your arms grow heavy
And tired from rowing;
If its been winter for years,
But still it keeps snowing,
When the waves rise around you,
Terrible demons of dreams,
You must stay by the oars,
And sail by ash breeze.

And when the great sea settles
Remember to thank her,
For preserving your life,
Lock stock port and anchor,
And though your trials are over,
And for now you're carefree,
You're now ready at the oars
Because you sailed by ash breeze
