A shadow finds itself at war for its soul between light and dark
A Silhouette without a name,
Nameless as a grain of sand,
hangs it's head in heart-filled shame
I stretch forth, hold out my hand.

Hoping it will leave the dark;
Open it's eyes to see the light
I flip a match to light a spark
to repress the chilling night

Fear engulfs its' hollow eyes
As it reaches for the dark
Standing there in wait it lies
of light; it wants no part

Afraid of warmth, afraid of light
It knows not what it wants
a roaring battle it must fight
a war upon two fronts

within two worlds it's torn apart
a decision it must face
to live a life? or remain in dark...
a symbol of all hate?

the morning rays invade the skies
and now it is too late
the shadow weeps before it dies
forever struck with hate

Don't let this tale ring true for you
Don't wonder from the light
try your best in all you do
less you too reside forever night.
