poem from life
Growing older has many sides,
The family grows, the family dies,
The body grows weaker,
The mind is the speaker,
Where we cannot do,
We can help others do.
They say things have changed,
From when we were young,
Technology yes but people still dumb.
Like Socrates said many years ago,
The youth of today are wild and slow.
Progress is still hampered by personal greed,
The world should be better for those in need.
An economy based on dollars alone,
Needs people put into the woeful tone.
All our systems are so past their time,
We cling to them when change is the wine,
Needed to see the future together,
Left and right are old birds of a feather,
That put us to fight each other,
Get on together and fight for each other.
Pollution is not just physical.
The mind is needing musical,
Muse not just amuse.
It is people that have forgotten,
The wisdom of the old that have rotten.
Don't count on politics do it yourself,
People together can tidy the shelf,
Of the old dusty books,
And put things in order,
Use knowledge and technology,
Then the rhyme will come.
