Where do the items we most love go after the wash?

It's time for a wash,

My favorite socks,

You've gotten sticky and stinky,

And I think that's sauce.

In the washing machine,

You crazy you,

While rocking these socks,

My dreams have come true.

Through promotions,

And Awards,

Traveling oceans,

Places unexplored,

Went to Toronto,

Met a guy,

We got married,

Started a life,

And through it all,

All the time,

I've kept you close,

Held you tight.

I open the dryer,

Where are you?

It's shocking and scary,

There are no longer two,

Anxiety overflows,

Ripping through clothes,

Have you gone?

To where the lost things go?
