Like Every Living Thing Love Thrives With Care

It comes from high
and settles below.
A seed in the ground
that starts to grow.

It does what it does
with speed and with care
entangling you tightly
impossible to tear.

To tear or to break
to burn or to fake
this weed in your garden
won't yield to a rake.

It fills in the emptiness
the gaps and the spaces
making flowering patches
in those old lonely places.

Old and lonely.
Quiet and bare.
I was ground without sunshine
or someone to care.

But the seed that blew in
that spread roots and then grew
was the kindness of Love
and the wonder of you.

Wonder and kindness
breaking through and between
calling the dreamer
to be awake in a dream.

My dream that is ours
Yours and mine
we two.
A thing we know is more real
than the sky being blue.

You came and you saved me
you planted to sow
You promised to stay
and never let go.

My heart is the flower
the fruit
and the bloom.
A star
now a Sun
With you as my Moon.
