A brief poem for a brief relationship. Note: Contest Entry (use bolded lines)
'You feel amazing,'
I desert bloom amidst promises and lies.
Tell me you're falling.

Days bring illusory hope,
Cracking lips craving the mirage,
Imagined cool, quickening thirst.

Possibility in my gaze,
Reflection of doubt in yours,
In dusk: sand and sky.

Relinquished dreams,
This final cost paid willingly,
Barren dunes remain.
