Scars are like a road map....
I pause before the mirror
And study my reflection.
It's not vanity to me;
It's a reminder of costs.

Crisscross...
White lines...
Crosshatched...
Like a
Roadmap

"You're beautiful," he would say.
I try, but I don't see it.
All I see is my roadmap;
All I can see is my scars.
