You were gone before the calm. I thought my storm had ended, but it had only just begun.
She was my savior.
We were always side-by-side;
Never a moment alone.

I was her best friend.
We were always there,
Whenever the other was needed.

But now,
You’re not next to me,
And it’s new to me.

Am I asleep or dead,
Is it all in my head?
What did I do?

When we were with each other,
We promised never to part.
But now you’ve gone and with you taken my heart.

What happened?
Tears dried,
Red eyes.

My friend, I’m sorry.
You are gone,
Now it’s all wrong.

I was not afraid to face the world,
But I’m so afraid to walk the world alone.
How do I keep on living...

Left alone
