A trek many won't finish

"Heat and Sand"

"As I walked across the scorching sand the sun felt as if it were a heat lamp hanging directly overhead. It weighed down on me with such intensity that any sweat from my skin immediately evaporated. I needed to find shade. Any shade. Just to escape this damnable heat. Yet, the faster I walk the slower I seem to go. This sand is loose and foreign to my steps and my exhaustive tread only invites an aching in my legs that reminds me of my own mortality. If I cannot find sanctuary soon then I will become one with this sand. Forever lost to it's vastness and having shown no signs of Will to cross it.
