EmiT. Or, wish I could turn back time.

I wish Time was a person
Would have told him
To hang on for a while.

But no,
Time, Old Man
wishes to see us old.

Time, ancient jailor,
Cousin to Cause and Effect,

Watch those
Two Steel Hands
dancing non-stop around the
World’s face
So that the Universe
may be put
into a premise
Of
Order.

What if there were no watches,
No limits
No zones,
No present
No past
No future
No pendulum to swing us
From one place to another?

What if we could
Just
Be.

But no,
Time’s in no mood
To free us
from its
Angry
Watch.

What we can’t escape
are its steely clutches.

Time old master,

Painter of white hair,

Like a drooping
December dawn,

Like a loose bag of flesh on a Dali painting,

Wishes to see us old.
