We are complex creatures, with lives too demanding. We need a way to step back and breath.
I miss the hummingbirds in the winter,
The way the soft breeze lightly grazes my cheek.
The smell of fresh rain,
And the look of newly fallen dew on delicate petals.

I wait for the day when,
Quiet green heads poke out from under layers of brown and white.
How the colors the that the world hid for so long,
Slowly start to bleed back in nature’s life.

I love the light showers,
Pitter-pattering on my windows,
The beginning of the newly awakened world,
Slowly shaking off its drowsiness.

I delight in the bird song,
As they return to their abandoned homes.
The low chitter of squirrels,
And the timid heads of dear poking out from the bushes.

I miss the life,
I enjoy living in the small things,
The mild storms on much needed sprout-lings,
And the buzzing of the bees.

I miss the way I feel,
When watching the trees dance in the breeze.
The serenity in the moment,
When in a blooming flower field.

The clear night skies,
With soft moonlight,
And sweetly twinkling stars,
Reflecting brightly off the mildly winding streams.

I miss the hummingbirds in the winter,
I miss how I finally feel okay,
Because amid all of the budding flowers,
My pain just fades away...

With life’s simple gifts to the world
