Every day for the past 2 years.
From the moment I wake
To the moment I sleep
I'm trapped in an inescapable pond
Weighed down by an undead weight
No matter how strong I get
I can never lift it
For every time I try
Invites only guilt

Life gave me this gift
Though I never asked for it
I sure never waned for it
but I didn't have a choice
for I was facing death
I wasn't afraid
Nor will I ever be
I won
Yet lost

A part of me that I never felt before
Until that day life decided to gift me cancer
The infamous sickness
And yet here I am stuck with this
Endless cycle of loneliness
Helpless and voiceless
All alone in an abyss
That everyone seems to miss
For I have to remain amiss
To let my world think I'm bliss

Weighed down
While I drown
Still I fight
With all my might
From the moment I wake
To the moment I sleep

For this is my life
Until the day I die.
