Metaphor of Eternal Life

After sipping
the wine renunciation
from the chalice of salvation,
my soul dances
across the marble of matter.

Freed
from the Reaper's grip
my spirit flies--
like rose petals carried
by the wind of dawn--
into the garden of paradise.

I cannot disguise
the joy I feel,
as prayer by prayer
my sins fade
into the damp soil
of forgiveness.
