Traveling from one distant shore to another
The last mile home
On a new sojourn
Afoot onward a curvy road
Warm sun rays
Lead the way
To an unknown address
At a stranger’s door

Feet planted still
On a cold hallway floor
Youthful vigor abounds
Yet nervous to the core
Faces, sounds, and smells
Distinct but strangely akin
To all other distant shores

Time flies by fast
The day takes a bow
As the night takes the helm
Moonlight, starlight bright
Anchored lanterns in the sky
Guide the weary traveler
To a distant stranger’s door
