I know there’s nothing I can do to make it up to you.
I know there’s nothing I can do
to make it up to you.
Some candy and some flowers, too,
somehow just wouldn’t do.

If I could go back, start again,
and have a second chance,
I’d treat you like the queen you are.
I’d whirl you off to France.
I’d sweep you off your pretty feet.
I’d be the perfect guy.
I’d be at your command, my love,
until the day I die.
I’d wash the dishes every night
and do the cooking too.
I’d make the bed and clean the house.
I’d do it all for you.
I’d buy you diamonds, rubies too.
I’d lavish you with gold.
I’d buy you mink and ermine coats
to keep you from the cold.

Too much? The candies are good?
Oh… and the dishes too. Huh.
