My conversation with my depression

They never understood, but you always did.
You were always with me,
Even when I was a kid.

You took my hand,
And taught me how to grin.
When I wasn't happy,
You encouraged the sin.

"Smoke a little, have some fun.
Go shopping, steal and run."

"They won't ever know,
if you learn to not let it show.
Keep your mouth shut,
and if things get too much just cut."

"You're okay, you're just fine.
You need to listen to me and don't get out of line."

You try to reassure me,
but I'm a little unsure, because every time I try to leave,
You charge the same fee.

A dose of sadness here,
A shot of pain there.
You won't leave me alone.
You constantly rip and tear.

Yes I know,
You've always been there.
But I'm begging you to let it show.
I can't hold it all in, it's not fair.

I want help,
I'm tired of lying.
Let me go,
I'm dying.

"Shhh relax, you're alright don't walk away"
No you lied, said you'd make it better,
But it's worse, I really can't stay.

"Remember who I am Tiauna,
don't you dare speak out,
besides they won't believe you,
their always filled with doubt."

Yeah you're right,
They never hear.
No matter what I say,
They put it off for fear.

"So you'll stay right?"
Yes, but please don't make me cut tonight.

"Oh no darling, you'll do something much worse.
You'll smoke a blunt to cope,
then go to the shed and tie the rope.
You'll grab a chair and put up your hair.
It'll only take a sec,
to wrap it around your neck.
You'll remember me and finally see.
You shouldn't have crossed the line,
I told you, you were fine.
So go ahead, kick the chair away,
now you'll no longer have a way.
To tell the people you loved about this deadly curse."
