I choose you, sweet bird, in a way I have chosen no one.
Hello sweet bird, so close to the sunset
Wings spread, black across the preset
Marking your territory, soaring through the sky
Over the quarry, pleasing to the eye

Hello sweet bird, so nonchalant and free
Can you hear my woe? Please hear my plea
I’ve been betrayed, I am astray
I have fallen to the bird of play

Hello sweet bird, come forth and grieve
Happiness, I have failed to receive
The sunset that once brought me joy
Has become a memory that I cannot enjoy

Hello sweet bird, how can it not matter
How can I let it all scatter?
How can I soar far above the field of view?
Far, far away into the sky of blue

Hello sweet bird, I promise to never look behind
Forget everything, for I have gone blind
No emotion, no fear, no care
I have lost it all, I know not where

Hello sweet bird, please forgive me
I have burdened you with my plea
Just like I have, to everyone
Please continue, to soar toward the sun
