A final goodbye to my favorite shirt.
I never write poetry. Not since a poetry class I took in college that left me scarred for life. But today I felt like challenging myself, so I wrote a haiku to a shirt I recently lost on the river while kayaking. It was a truly sad day for me and all the beer I lost each time I flipped. While the poem is silly, I truly am mourning that lost shirt.

----

Slow, gentle river
Careens me into a rock
I lose my kayak

Another beer gone
Sacrificed to river gods
I lose my paddle

Head is throbbing
Water rises up my nose
I lose my footing

Two hands are reaching
Yanked out of the waters reach
I lost my favorite shirt.
