A poem I wrote one night. No backstory but I just had to get it out
They say things will get better with time
I’ve been waiting a while and nothing seems to change
Life is passing me by and I can’t get off
Everyone is smiling and laughing seemingly mocking me
The pain is real and even whiskey won’t numb it
Seasons change and it just gets worse
I want to lock myself in a room and scream
Some might call me crazy but I’m the same as everyone else
Just another face in the crowd that is soon forgotten
I was always quick to lend a hand
But when I fell no one tried to help me up
The fact of the matter is you can only rely on yourself
Yet you have no desire to try anymore
What’s the point, we all turn to dust in the end
Is eternal silence better than constant pain
No pain no gain
No love no life?
