Based off Norman Rockwell's picture, "The Shiner"
She sat outside the office, pride in her heart.
"Girls don't fight," the boy'd said,
but boy, did she prove him wrong.

The zero-tolerance policy at school
landed her in the hall, Mom in the office,
talking to the boss.

She'd thrown the first punch,
and therefore, was in the wrong-
"You think I'm bad?
You should see him," was her response.
