A festival to celebrate the changing of the seasons
Equinox

Discovered in the equinox,
when time is drawing short
Lost thoughts stored in a tinderbox,
lit memories that caught

Glitter that still lingers round,
from Eden's golden fields
Applied by gifted fingers... found,
such memories... I yield

A shine that time can't sweep away,
however hard it tries
This dustpan brush can't hold much sway,
with glitter where it lies

In crevices and corners hid,
with hope in short supply
Packed and wrapped with what I did
... and things I didn't try

'tween hibernating heartbeats, long
the sleeping of such souls
Sad spirits wrecked on rocks... reefs, wronged,
so somber in our roles

With something in the water's weave,
we lost in prior shows,
as summer days burn shorter... leave,
we wonder where time goes

So seasonal, this cold refrain,
as falls spell out your name
Shining brightly once again
and coming round the same

Through fields where such music plays,
where happy truths are found
Where people dance through stranger's days,
'midst vibrant beats and sounds

With phantoms calling noisily,
from somewhere in my past
Running slow, enthralling me,
with Summer holding fast

'midst glitter found as Summer locks,
with Autumn's sweet retort
Just in time for equinox,
... when memories are short
