Celebrating German unification, East and West.
This is one Germany now;
no longer split East and
West over political
concerns—unification
of one country, and
I am proud to share
the pride…
a horrible wall
taken down; I recall
it well, when President
Reagan urged Soviet
Premier Gorbachev to,
Take down this wall!
And so it was that
concrete fell, with
pieces gathered up.
Excited participants
reveling
in freedom’s right.
It is to shout
it is to share
it is to recognize,
that any iron curtain,
even one hard
as stone,
need only be torn
by voices unafraid
to be heard.
