How my childhood evolved from something sweet to something horrific.
When I was a child, I wanted to play in the puddles when it rained.
--
When I was a child, I was oblivious to what was happening around me.
--
When I saw my face in the reflection of the puddles, I would cry.
--
When I was a child I thought it was normal to hear your mother be abused.
--
When I was a child I thought it was normal to see everyone around me poking needles in themselves.
--
When I was ten I tried to kill myself.
--
Puddles, then water, now blood.
