The want of something lost
I long for the sweet and tender softness of your lips.
The smoothness of your skin under my hand.
Your breath warm against the side of my neck.
The stormy and dark beauty of your eyes as they pierce my soul.
The way your words destroy the walls around my heart.

I long to be released from this cage.
Held captive by my choices.
A prisoner in my head because I was too weak to fight.
Too scared to make the attempt.

I long for a heaven I will never enter.
