..(attempting to capture) in 1 instant, how much could happen
.
this sound
.
(like legs swishing on fresh, silk sheets)
.
startles me awake, to
.
to see some swarming in the leaves,
.
.
now, turning their silver sides-up;
.
and then the whipcrack
.
of a crooked leg of lightening
.
staggering to the ground;
.
.
sets-off an explosion
.
of grey doves, fifty, at least, leaping in one moment,
.
from the old High School roof; the white bottoms
.
.of their wings, a silent shotgun blast
.
.against the charcoal clouds
.
.
the fury of their flight
.
giving way to huge splattering drops.
