Reasons not to cook—a Writer’s Cramp entry.
In this day and age
the world is microwave,
one need not cook.
Raw vegetables await.
Today’s a brand new day,
yesterday’s for cooking;
today is leisure suit,
no need to light
the oven.
One only has to
thumb flat buttons
on a Little Litton,
radiation does the
rest—that is
cooking, “cheat,”
convenience like
a drive-thru window
where burgers, fries
pass from on high
to vehicle diner…
gnaw raw cabbage
masticate a carrot;
foods au naturale
are day to day.
Mama Leone
needs a break!
Uncooked foods,
the microwave,
one need not be
a kitchen slave.
No use to bake
or boil, fry sauté
or broil…see
Bob Evan’s for
the turkey, let
the clerks go
turkey bowling.
