Turning Pages
There's something I've wanted to tell you,
It causes me great joy but hurts
If my silence breaks, would we be the same?
Will our times become better, or worse?

Each day spent with you is a blessing
Already, I long not to part
Will these years be all to our memories?
Will only a glimmer remain of our spark?

I know that we'd break all convention,
As friendship is all that we've known
Does great love come with great risk?
Or has my reason been clouded by my heart?

My feelings are locked in a dance with guilt.
They threaten to break what is sacred.
Should I hide them away?
Cover them and covet them until we part ways?

I feel like I owe you more,
But what I owe you might not want, like, or wish for
So I turn to the pen,
And turn the paper to you.
