dark dreamscape poetry contest entry.
Forgotten by all but the creatures of decay,
the gifts glisten beneath the layers of dust and cobwebs.
The joy fossilized by time,
forever Christmas, which never comes.
The jolly man served his part,
but no child rose early to serve theirs.
The dolls, the balls, are antiques never used.
How did it come to this?
Darkness fell and joy never rose.
